The Residence

Nestled between leafy Park Street and the lakeside Buddhist shrine of Gangarama, the Residence is a unique boutique hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital city. Built in the nineteenth century by a wealthy barrister, Sheikh Salehboy Moosajee, its halls and ballrooms of this grand Victorian townhouse once welcomed British governors, Indian maharajas, European nobility and the cream of colonial Ceylon society.

Despite its central location, its atmosphere of secluded peace and quiet is pure balm for the weary, the city-drained and travel-stained. Its appointments are elegant, contemporary and comfortable, yet pay tribute to its rich history and that of the neighbourhood.
